how to calculate volt ampere VA in a singe and a three phase system


1. Single phase voltage


VA = I  × V

Example:

I = 5
V = 230

VA =5 I × 230V  

VA = 1150 VA

2. Three phase voltage


VA =  √3   ×  I   ×  V


Example:

I =5

V = 415

VA = √3 × 5I × 415V

VA = 3593.9
