how to convert amps to watts
1.DC voltage
P = I × V
ohm's law
P = E × I
P = R × I2
P= E2 × R
Example:
12V 5A
P 12V × 5A = 60W
P = R × I2
R = P / I2
R = 60W / 52 = 2.4
P = 2.4 × 52 = 60W
P= E2 × R
P = 122 / 2.4 = 60W
2. Single phase voltage
P = PF × I × V
Example:
P = 0.8PF × 5A × 230V
P = 920W
3. Three phase voltage
P = √3 × PF × A × V
Example:
P = √3 ×0.8 PF ×5A ×415V
P = 2875.12W
